In partnership with the City of Houston, Microsoft, and Intel, The Ion Smart and Resilient Cities Accelerator (The ISRCA), one of the accelerators in The Ion Accelerator Hub, supports startups working on smart city solutions. The ISRCA aligns to the Resilient Houston Strategy and Climate Action Plan. The ISRCA Cohort 3 launches in late-March 2021, with virtual programming, and focuses on sustainability. The other accelerators in the Hub include DivInc’s Accelerator and Rice Alliance Clean Energy Accelerator. The Accelerator Hub at The Ion is funded by a grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration [ED20HDQ0200051].
Through The Ion’s partnership with NASA Johnson Space Center, The Ion Aerospace Innovation Accelerator focuses on supporting minority business enterprises (MBEs) tackling aerospace-related challenges, including robotics, medicine, health support systems, and additive manufacturing.
