Houston is home to the 3rd largest consular corps in the nation and was recently named one of the world’s top 3 Global Cities of the Future. As an international city, we are excited to provide a platform for startups to showcase their companies on the world stage.
Indonesia, the 4th most populous country in the world, is Southeast Asia's largest economy, rich in natural resources. A dynamic democracy, the country is urbanizing and modernizing rapidly, making the country a compelling market for global expansion.
The first International Connections event features startups from Indonesia and Houston and is co-hosted by The Ion and the Consulate General of Indonesia to help startups gain exposure and access to international markets and capital.
The virtual showcase will feature three startups from Indonesia and three from Houston primarily highlighting healthcare, telemedicine, or biotech.
Welcome remarks will be provided by the Deputy Minister of Creative Economies of Indonesia (invited) and the Consul General of Indonesia in Houston.
